Car speakers have a particularity to take into account when buying them. It is about their size and location. If the speakers are going to be placed in the rear tray of our car the problem is minimized, because simply and if they are not already done, we must practice a hole adjusted to the measurements of our new speaker.
This factor gets a little more complicated when the speakers that we acquired have to be located in the place where they had already been embedded, for example, on the sides of doors or on the dashboard of the car. In those places and for an obvious matter, the space allocated to the loudspeakers is limited to what the manufacturer stipulates, so we must take it into account.
Another important factor to consider is the type of loudspeaker to be acquired, given that the small diameter speakers and thin, obey at high frequencies and on the contrary, deep and large diameter speakers, do so at low frequencies. Normally the high-pitched speakers will be located on the dashboard and at the left and right ends. The low frequency loudspeakers are located on the sides of the rear doors and those of intermediate frequencies, on the doors of the pilot and co-pilot. In this way the sound is distributed correctly.
Once we have solved the previous points we will go to check the following things, the best car speaker in hand:
- The speakers must not have any type of rust on their metal parts, as this would indicate that they have been exposed to moisture
- The speaker membrane must be intact and free of dirt and dust. Gently we can also check the elasticity of the same by pressing slightly inwards observing that the membrane does not clog or brake.
- The contacts must not have sulfur and, of course, must be intact.
It is also important to ask the seller to show us how it works to verify that the loudspeaker responds to the frequencies we want. When the speakers are at full capacity, it is important to ask the seller to increase the volume to the maximum to detect possible strange noises that would make us see that these speakers are not valid.
There are speakers that respond to double frequencies, a kind of two in one, which are equally valid for their versatility. These, normally, should be placed in the front doors.
In case you need to buy car parts, you just have to stop by our store and select what you are looking for. We have a wide variety of components, especially audio. That's why we want to take advantage of this new entry to focus on one of those elements that are so important to enjoy a good sound inside the vehicle: the speakers.
When looking for speakers we must take into account a series of basic parameters: the power (in RMS value); the sensitivity (the higher the power, the less the speaker will need to sound as loud as the less sensitive one); the number of ways (two or three are enough, you do not need more, because more ways do not mean you have more quality); the range of frequencies that they can reproduce (ideally, it should be as wide as possible); the impedance (usually 4 Ohms in car audio).
A single speaker is not capable of reproducing all the frequencies of music with quality. The ideal, therefore, is to have several channels, that is, several types of speakers, each one specialized in each frequency range.
